ASCSC County Championships
Nassau Aquatic Center - Eisenhower Park - East Meadow, NY
April 12-13, 2007

This years counties provided some excitement, satisfaction and several quite unusual occurrences. During the warm-up the bulkhead sustained a partial collapse rendering the pool unusable in yards. Fortunately the pool was still capable of being used in Short Course Meters, so the meet was changed to a timed finals format in SCM. The SCM pool runs South to North with swimmers beginning straight towards the spectator seating, which provided some of the most exquisite views of the swimmers technique.

Hauppauge finished a very respectable 6th place overall with 1059.50 points scored. Being a smaller club in comparison to the many other county teams, HAA had 48 total swimmers at the meet and for 17 this was there first ever counties meet. Each and every team scoring more points than HAA were represented by more swimmers, for some clubs it was substantially more at almost a 3 to 1 ratio, although we did outscore some teams with more swimmers.

A special thanks to Noble Elevator and the Dutton family for providing the amazing shirts that our swimmers wore at the meet.

HAA had 32 separate swimmers involved in scoring with 22 swimmers finish in the top 20 in a respective race and another 10 who participated in the relays that totaled 504-points. All of the swimmers were supported throughout the whole meet by each and every teammate with enthusiastic cheers and encouraging team spirit.
